Research & Development (R&D) Chemist – Full Time, Permanent

Location: Mitchell, Ontario

Department: R&D, Regulatory

Salary: Range $50,000 – $55,000 (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift only (8.5 hours/day, 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Position Overview

The R&D Chemist is responsible to perform analysis and documentation to ensure compliance with Health Canada, FDA, and HACCP guidelines for manufacturing medicated feed additives. They will report directly to the R&D Supervisor as well as the Director of Regulatory and R&D, who will coordinate their responsibilities within the R&D department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform R&D testing for assigned projects
  • Chemical, physical, spectroscopic, and chromatographic examination of raw materials and finished products
  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities to cGMP standards
  • Complete paperwork for the release of materials
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment and environment to cGMP standards
  • Perform or assist with testing required for R&D Laboratory Investigations
  • Write method development protocols and reports
