QC Team Lead/Senior Chemist

The main responsibility of the Quality Control Team Lead/Senior Chemist is to perform analysis and documentation to ensure compliance to Health Canada, FDA, and HACCP guidelines for manufacturing medicated feed additives. Provide oversight for up to 10 team members. The QC Team Lead/Senior Chemist will report directly to the QC Manager who will coordinate their responsibilities within the QC department.

Job Duties Include:

  • Execute testing with chemical, physical, spectroscopic, and chromatographic examination of raw materials and finished products, including impurity analysis and validations to GLP, Health Canada & FDA Standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities to cGMP standards
  • Complete paperwork for the release of materials
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment and environment to cGMP standards
  • R&D duties, including non-standard testing, data review, and compilation of results into submission reports
  • Co-ordinate up to 10 team members their task obligations for scheduled production needs
  • Follow standard company policies and procedures for Health Canada, US FDA, and VICH

Applicants for this position will need to have the following skills and abilities:

  • Quality Control related Analytical Chemistry laboratory experience
  • Proficient in Waters Empower 3 Software, Waters LC equipment maintenance, Dissolution testing, Mass Lynx, UPC2and XEVO Equipment operation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Animal Feed testing experience
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experienced in cGMP compliant Quality Investigation documentation
  • Knowledgeable in the use of, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Strong attendance record
  • Cheerful and positive outlook

Educational Experience/Background:

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related science field
  • Minimum 3 years experience Knowledge of pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratory operations is required or minimum 3 years experience in pharmaceutical or another relevant field

Holiday Bonus: Up to a $1,000 bonus for Full-time active employees. It will be pro-rated based on your start date and active employment days. This bonus will be paid in late December.
