QA Specialist

We seek a motivated, detail-orientated individual with a passion for quality, for a permanent, full-time position as a QA Specialist.

Benefits:

Salary range: $55,000 – $60,000. Wages are commensurate with experience.

Shift: Day shift only – 8.5 hours per day with an unpaid ½ hour lunch, Monday to Friday with no weekends.

Health Benefits: Enrollment into the company plan upon completing a successful probation period.

Holiday Bonus: $1,000 bonus for Full-time active employees. It will be pro-rated based on your start date and active employment days. This bonus will be paid in late December.

QA Specialist

The main responsibility of the QA Specialist is to ensure that our products comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves ensuring company compliance with Health Canada, FDA, and HACCP regulations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review batch records and related documentation to ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and approve Quality Control laboratory records, including test results, data sheets, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA). Ensure that test results and analytical data meet established specifications and acceptance criteria. Ensure that investigations into laboratory deviations, non-conformances, or out-of-specification results are conducted in accordance with GMP guidelines and internal SOPs.
  • Lead and/or participate in investigations of quality incidents, deviations, and non-conformances. Identify root causes of quality issues and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) to prevent recurrence.
  • Organize and maintain quality-related documents, records, and files in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and internal procedures.
  • Assist in the review and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in projects that support continuous improvement of the quality system.
  • Support the QA team in achieving the department’s overall objectives and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer programs (Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe software.)
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and accountability with an excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all team members including other departments.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Chemistry, Biological and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biology, or related science field.
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar position as well as HACCP certification is an asset.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and analytical testing techniques.
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of GMPs is preferred.
