Project Chemist
Bio Agri Mix LP is a leading Canadian manufacturer of animal feed medications and other animal health care products for 30+ years, located in Mitchell, ON. We are Health Canada licensed, FDA approved and HACCP certified manufacturer. We are currently seeking an ambitious, organized individual for a Permanent Full-Time position as a Project Chemist.
Benefits:
Salary Range: $53,500 – $62,000 annually.
Days of work: Monday to Friday, NO weekend work required.
Hours of work: Shift times vary between 7:15 am to 7:45 am start times, to 3:45 pm to 4:15 pm end times, with a half-hour early departure on Fridays.
Holiday Bonus: $1,000 bonus for Full-time active employees. It will be pro-rated based on your start date and active employment days. This bonus will be paid in late December.
Project Chemist
The Project Chemist is responsible for the acquisition, organization, project management, and review of all types of data for the Research and Development program within the Quality Control Laboratory. They report to the R&D Coordinators as well as the VP of QA/QC.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Testing and Development
- Perform R&D testing for assigned projects
- Research, develop, and validate new methods for R&D projects or improved lab efficiency
- Perform or Assist with testing required for R&D Laboratory Investigations
Organization
- Assist in writing and validating new methods of analysis for R&D
- Assist in protocol writing, data analysis, and report preparation
- Supervise the preparation of deviations or laboratory investigations to protocols, methods or SOPs to ensure compliance
Project Management
- Ensure that QC Chemists and QC Analysts are trained and are working with current versions of R&D protocols
- Ensure that tests match protocol requirements and are reported per Regulatory requirements
Review
- Review data, checklists and lab notebooks for completeness and accuracy of R&D data for submission to QA or Regulatory affairs personnel
Administration
- Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities to regulatory standards
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment and environment to regulatory standards
- Maintain R&D sample storage location
Educational Experience/Background:
- Minimum M.Sc. of Ph.D. in Chemistry or related science field
- Analytical laboratory experience specifically in pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratory operations is preferred
- At least 1 year of experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectrometry (MS)
- Effective written and oral communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting
- Strong research and problem-solving abilities
